Our Story
Pioneros is a family-run business based in the UK, with our own leather workshop in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Pioneros means ‘pioneers’ in Spanish - we were the first company to bring the now hugely popular Argentinian Polo Belt to the UK.
Meet the Pioneros Family
Pioneros was established in 2003 by British and Argentinian cousins, Robin & Fiona and Alejandro & Sandra. With regular trips to Argentina visiting extended family, we realised that we wanted to share our love of the country with others. Alejandro & Sandra run the manufacturing side of Pioneros in Buenos Aires, while Robin & Fiona manage the UK and Export side. 19 years on and our families are closer than ever.

History
Our family connections with Argentina go back to before 1745, in the Spanish colonial days, long before Argentina gained independence. More recently, Fiona and Sandra’s Great Grandfather left Great Britain by ship for the Argentine in the late 1800s as one of the early pioneers working on the Railways. He then established an Estancia which our family has been farming ever since
Traditional Craftsmanship
Using traditional/ artisan techniques, local craftsmen make everything by hand using the fine quality leathers for which Argentina is renowned. With regular trips between the UK and Argentina, we manage to combine spending valuable time in our Pioneros workshop creating and developing new designs with visiting extended family.
